Well I am back in NM after a month in Boston. Getting back here was a bit of a nightmare, but I made it!
Before heading to the east coast, Abby and I did a quick skin the Friday morning of my flight. It was great to get up there one more time before leaving for such a long time. Although it was pretty cold that day.
The east was pretty cold too, temps in the negatives or lows of 5-9 degrees. Brian and I did get to Stowe for a weekend though, and got to ski 2 days, even with the extreme cold. Lucky for us there was fresh snow there as well, a very happy surprise. The weekend we went was also the weekend my sister gave birth to Adam (December 14, 2013), the newest member of the family.
Wyatt and I headed to Ski Santa Fe today, but only got 2 runs in before calling it due to the 5 degree weather and the whole upper mountain being closed from high winds.
Classes start this coming Wednesday, and it looks to be a pretty busy quarter between classes and skiing. Today is the last calm day before it starts, so I am enjoying relaxing, and settling back into Santa Fe life.

First tracks of 2013-2014 Ski Season
First I want to say that last season was awesome. I had use of a condo in Taos for most of the season making it possible for me to stay up there during the week. I also got to ski a few different mountains in Colorado, Telluride, Vail, Beaver Creek, Winter Park/Mary Jane, and Loveland. I also started using my AT gear and skinned up the Ski Santa Fe area a few times with Megan and Roy. Pretty great season that I ended with 33 days of skiing.
My goals this year are to beat the 33 days, and try multiple hikes (in a day) to Kachina Peak in Taos.
Got my first two days in this past weekend in Taos with Abby. Pretty great days, although I did fall the second day, lost a ski, and almost went the whole way down, but luckily stopped myself. I do have a nice big bruise on my leg though, I think from hitting a rock.
I leave this Friday for Boston for the month, so hope to get a few days in back east this season.
Looking back I did 25 days my first season here in Santa Fe, with a half day in Aspen, and two days in Vermont.
